Platform birdfeeders are the ideal feeding station for cardinals and other large birds.  The large landing space means you could also attract many unwanted birds suchs as cowbirds, grackles and starling.  Cage covers when used on the ground and baffles when hanging will keep squirrels away from the bird seed.
