You will have more success attracting orioles, hummingbirds, cardinals, bluebirds, chickadees, gold finch and other song birds to your garden by serving the right food.  Hang suet for high energy birds such as woodpeckers, set out mealworms and nectar for orioles, bluebirds and hummingbirds and fill birdfeeders with sunflower or thistle seed for gold finch, cardinals and chickadees.
